Sommerkort med Kenny K

SOL!

SUN! Finally sunshine after a wet and grey June :) I've had a card in mind all week, after seeing the sketch over at Sketchy colors last sunday. But, the days came and went and I had no time to make the card, except colouring in a Kenny K-motive. On monday, I saw that Kreati Scrapping (who's given me excellent service, by the way!) has a challenge going called vacation + bingo, and with that in mind, my card just fell in place during a few hours yesterday after work :)

Motive from Kenny K (Coloured with ProMarkers), lace from Kort og Godt, bling from Live and Love Crafts. Flowers, pearls, seambinding coloured with glimmermist, homemade pins, cheesecloth and the metalcorner is embossed with Fran-tage. Text made with Dymo. All panels are sown (I need to get thicker tread!!)

Kenny K is perfect for teenage-cards. So handy to have a few cards finished when the oldest girl suddenly says "Eh, mom... I'm invited to a birthday tonight, og want a card. Could you make one?" As if I whip up a card in an hour!

Papers from Maja Design - vintage spring basics, kraft from Joy crafts and bazill - vanilla.

Challenges I'm entering my card in:
* Sketchy colors - sketch
* Kreativ Scrapping - ferie + bingo - Jeg har visst bingo i alle retninger, jeg... Fullt brett! Men rekken jeg egentlig mente å ta i bruk er på skrå: perler - punch - gul - osteklut.
* Kenny K - teenz rock
* I love ProMarkers - photo inspiration

Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge #86!

Hi everyone! I hope you had a wonderful easter, I know I did! And a bit too much chocolate...

Today we're back with a new challenge for you over at Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge blog, and this forthnight we sure have a fun challenge: Use a faux technique!

There are plenty to choose from, and if you go to the Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge blog, you can see some wonderful examples on what faux techniques to try out. Or maybe you have an idea yourself you'd like to try?

Here's my card, and I've used the faux chalkboard technique to make my happy birthday sentiment.

 The cardbase are made from a Go Create die, and Tilda is coloured with distress inks.

To create the faux chalkboard, I've embossed with white powder on smooth, black bazzill, and distress with white Versa Color.

Magnolia bookcard

It's my grandmothers 85th birthday, and here's the card I made for her. Since it's a bookcard, it also has the function of being a giftwrapper for earrings and necklace :)

The paper with the gothic writing is from an old book from 1883. It hurts a bit every time I tear one of the pages... :)

The letters and numbers are made out of 3 layers glued on top of eachother. The edges are distressed with walnut stain, and I've put on crackle accents on them. I really wanted a 3D-effect on them :)

6" x 5"

Stamps:
Magnolia

My daughters birthday

Here's the card I made for my daughters birthday. She's got a thing for purple, so it had to be a purple card.

 Stamp from Tickled pink. Used a Magnolia border-die to frame the card.
 Banner-die from Magnolia. I've used a TH-die to make the letters. Attached pattered paper on a chipboard  and cut out the letters. Charm from Kort and Godt.
 The roses were white, coloured them with homemde glimmermist (a mix of dusty concord and milled lavender and perfect pearls). The white flowers got a mix of just water and perfect perls to give them shine without changing their colour. Works sooo well, I love this homemade glimmermist-idea! :D
Added a bit of white paint on some of the flowers.
Image coloured with distress inks. The tag behind the image has a happy-birthday text from NSS on it.

Challenges I'm entering my card in:
* Nordsalten - lilla
* Papiravisen - anything goes

Vintage birthday

Here's a card I made for a colleague who's mother-in-law had her 70th birthday a while back. Stamp from stempelglede, coloured with promarkers.

Stamp from Stempelglede (vintage garden). The butterflies are metalcharms painted with gesso and I've added some glitter to them.
The number 70 is a TH-die, cut out on chipboard and painted with cracklepaint. Distressed the edges with vintage photo. The old text is from an old book (from 1883! It hurts a bit to tear it apart...). I love the gothic writing on it... :)

Challenges I'm entering my card in:
* Passion for promarkers - shabby in pink or blue (mine's pink)

Saturated canary - fall

It's been sooo quiet here lately! Life's been busy and I haven't had nearly enough time to create as I would like to. But I have been creating, although I haven't updated my blog for a while. I have a few cards ready to be published here, and unfortunately I've made a few that I forgot to photograph before I gave them away. Oh well.

Today I have an autumn-inspired card. It's for my mothers birthday, and I have used one of the new Saturated Canary rubber stamps that came in the mail from Hjerteboden a while back.

I've used the gorgeous fall-themed papers from Maya design. The roses and swirly flowers (from Kort og godt) were white, and I've coloured them with my self-made glimmermist (water, distress re-inkers and perfect pearls). I found the tip on how to make your own glimmermist somewhere in blogland a while ago, and I have to say - it works perfectly!! And with using the perfect pearls, I get just enough glimmer-effect on them too. Added some liquid pearls, swirl from Magnolia, leaves from WOC (coloured them woth homemade glimmermist and distressed the edges).

Image coloured with distress inks.

Challenges I'm entering my card in:
* Cupcake craft challenges - autumn
* Allsorts challenges - autumn leaves and trees

Magnolia - birthday

My second card today. I knew I wanted to join in on sketchy colors theme this week: pink, mint and white. And then the card practically made itself. With these colours it had to be the baby Tilda from Princes and Princesses, and Magnolia papers :)

 A tag hidden behind the image.  The branches are a MS punch.
 The inside. Textstamp from Stempelglede.
 And the back. The punching shows a bit better here.
Closeup to show the shaker-effect, using tiny, pink and mint beads. The mint-coloured roses are white roses coloured with distress stain - broken china and glimmermist - pearl. The butterflies are a magnolia-die, while the small butterflies inside is a MS punch.
The sentiment is stamped on Vellum.

Challenges I'm entering my card in:
* All sorts challenge - shaker card
* Sentimental sundays - card for kids
* Sketchy colors - mint, pink and white
* Nordsalten - flower power
* Little darlings challenge - flower power

Tekst-stempel fra Norsk Stempelglede, blomsterstempel fra Lily of the valley.

Birthday card for my sister-in-law

My husbands big sister, and my sister-in-law, had her 50th birthday this week. Yesterday she celebrated it surrounded by her entire family. I got the assignment of making her a card, and here's the result :)

I need to start taking my pictures in daylight... the colours never turn out the way they really are. This one really is soft pink and beige :p

And isn't my new corner die from Whimsy perfect? Looks a bit like the corner die from Quickutz (the one they stopped making before I knew I wanted it...).

And I've made my first pin! Bought a couple jars of pearls and some pins at Panduro, and made it myself. I'll be back to buy more pearls, I just needed to see if I liked it. And I did ;)

6" x 6"
Paper:
Cardstock: nature and beige
DPs from Magnolia
Ink:
Memento - rich cocoa

Happy 18 - Kenny K

Another Kenny K card from me. This is for a girl who turns 18 next week, and her mom asked if I could make a card. I've tried to make the card according to her wishes - quite simple, peach, green, brown, springy colours yet somewhat subtle as the girl is pretty down-to-earth person (easy peasy!).

I made her an easelcard, and I hope she'll like it.

Inside there's a panel with a text from Kort & Godt, and space to write a personal greeting

Kenny K

Here's a card I made a couple of days ago, with another Kenny k image (I love them!). Coloured with distress inks.

 Papers from Pion, dies from spellbinder and Magnolia. Not easy to see, but I've dryembossed the pink panel with cute dots to make it more "alive".
I sewed all the edges.
 Might be easier to see the embossed dots here
Flowers from WOC, doily, the lace is tied to a tag from Magnolia, which is hidden behind the picture.

Happy Birthday: Sugar Nellie

My niece is 5 years old tomorrow, and we're just home from her birthday celebration. Here's the card I made for her. She's a typical 5-year old, totally addicted to anything pink and princess-like. So, it had to be a pink card with a lot of glitter.

 Papers from Magnolia and Melissa Frances. The Sugar Nellie Manga Princess stamp is new, and I coloured it with distress inks. I also got to try my new butterfly-dies from Sheery Lynn. Lots og stickles (diamond) around the frame of the picture, on her dress and on the butterflies. I've also used a lot of liquid pearls (white opal).

Hard to see, but I've used glittery fabric bought at the Magnolia shop in Borås this summer. First time I use it!
 The inside. Stamp from Stempelblad.
Stamp from NSS.

Challenges I'm entering my card in:
* Papiravisen - bursdag
